Most conferences go out and find people to speak, they don't have an open call for people to speak at them. HostingCon sessions have been loosely veiled sales pitches for quite some time now, this can be changed by setting topics of interest to the hosting community and then finding people to talk about those topics. Please don't take the easy route of just letting anyone send in a topic, this is causing the lack of attendance at speaking sessions.
